Note of Thanks

I know, it's sounds wrong, It's supposed  to be 'vote of thanks'  but please,  it's English and I can play around it. 

My main point today is about Thanksgiving. 

I can remember posting a similar write up-- Ipad VS Boots Story  but it can never be over emphasized.  I'm doing my devotion this morning and I'm so grateful to God.  Really,  he has done so many things for me.  So I decided to write a Note of Thanks.  

This is how it goes.
Lord I m thankful for all the things you've done for me. 

Thank you for the roof  over my head.

Thank you for keeping all my family members while I was in school.
Thank you that Nigeria is still together in one piece.
That I woke up today strong and healthy,  not even cough or head ache. 

Thank you because I have something to do, that I'm not jobless and life has meaning to me.  I know I m heading somewhere.

Thank  God for the people in my life,  friends and foes alike.
Thank God for life,  we have gotten to the  middle of the year with so much joy.........

Fruits of the Spirit

After  prayers one evening, I heard a voice saying the " FRUITS OF THE SPIRIT". I immediately understood that I was supposed to go read and learn more about the fruit of the spirit.
 Of course I knew they were LOVE, JOY, PEACE, PATIENCE, GOODNESS, KINDNESS,  FAITHFULNESS, GENTLENESS ,SELF CONTROL  but I had never really studied it.

See now I have always considered myself to be a morally upright person .  I just never felt that I lacked any of the fruits. Anyways I started my studies and I made awesome personal discoveries. I obliviously could not keep it to myself, so I decided to share. I am on a journey of discovering, in-debt  how God wants us to behave.  The characters and attributes that should be found in us as Christian ladies and guys.  I ‘m deeply relying on the holy spirit to grant me understanding and access to deep secrets on this topic. Please feel free to share or ask questions. Lets  learn and grow in Christ together. Join me in writing this articles.

FRIENDS OF FAITH

                                                                              

Mark  2:2-5

2   “Immediately many gathered together, so that there was no longer room to receive them, not even near the door. And He preached the word to them.
3 Then they came to Him, bringing a paralytic who was carried by four men.
4 And when they could not come near Him because of the crowd, they uncovered the roof where He was. So when they had broken through, they let down the bed on which the paralytic was lying.
5 When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralytic, "Son, your sins are forgiven you."          
         
            This story is a familiar one ,but on  listening to Mark 2 (Audio version). The Holy  Spirit brought to my attention “And when Jesus saw Their Faith”. Usually Jesus performed miracles based on the individuals faith (The woman with the issue of blood) but this particular scenario was different because it wasn’t just the faith of the paralytic, that got him his healing .But it included the faith of the four men that went through all the *wahala* and  let  down his bed through the roof. I call them, “The friends of faith.”
            It makes me realize that it is important to have  friends or  partners  who  will agree in faith with you over an issue that you need a miracle for. Even if hindrances come (the crowd that prevented them from seeing Jesus) they can come up with other options, (going through the roof) and propel you into receiving your miracles.
            In that same line of revelation I remember my service unit in school(Prayer Force), How we would come together on Sundays to pray for the campus issues as well as ourselves, you can bet we got a lot of answered prayers, because of “our faith”.

           It dawned on me that man ought to be an intercessor. In that same  minute several  needs came to my mind, and I started joining my faith with others, believing God for something.

Ipad vs Boots

Story Story……(Yep, Its story Time)

                Once upon a time, there were two brothers named  Tobi and Kolade.  came from a very rich family in Nigeria.There Uncle was even richer, holding a political position. Every year Tobi and Kolade would write to him, Telling him what they wanted as Christmas gifts.

This was how Tobi asked

      

          “Uncle, This Year can I have an Ipad?.. everyone in school has one. Pls uncle I really want to       get  one.I need it badly”

Kolade said:

          “Uncle, thanks for all the gifts from the previous years…Thanks  for the toy cars, the ipod shuffle, mp3’s,and last years Ipod(everyone liked it).. This year Ipads are in. Almost everyone has one.Pls can I get one too. Thank-You”

The following week. The package from Uncle came .As usual they were both excited. When Tobi felt his, being much heavier, he was happy that he had gotten his request. On opening it, he realized that it wasn’t an ipad, but a very lovely pair of Nike boots.

Simultaneously Kolade screamed with excitement, “He got an Ipad”…

Attached to it was a message..

“The Government have cut down our allowances. But you were so appreciative of the former ones.I Couldn’t  refuse you this one.”

                                                        End of Story.

I cant over stretch the importance of thanksgiving, this article however has a twist.

Introducing…….The “Thanks-Book”.  It’s a book, not necessarily it can be a page on your notepad, or a draft message on your phone, Just for recording  the things God has done for you.

        God just saved you from an accident on your way to walk, write it!

       You mysteriously escaped punishment from the authorities write it!

Kk, that’s even big.. simple things such as

    You woke up today, Had the strength to stand up, You have friends that call you during the day,  Write it, write, write it and write it all.

Make it a point of duty to be thankful for something per day. Its necessary to write down the things that God does for you.It ll make you more grateful. Phillipians 4;6

Don’t forget-Thanks giving is application for more and its essential in prayer.

Dare To Do The Extra

             Have you ever been awarded bonus marks for point; you might have given a lecturer more points than in the note, got extra coins while playing temple run, for good handwriting in an essay, or for neat work in a drawing. I’m sure you must have.

Yeah, that's what happened in Paul’s life.

Acts 19 vs 11,12

"And God did unusual and extra ordinary miracles by the hands of Paul".

Why? Because he labored probably more than the rest of the apostles. He spent time; studying the word, Praying, Reading, Fellowshipping with the holy-spirit, speaking in tongues(1^st Corinthians 14:18)…

           What are you spending your time on?

        My advice-“Spend it on doing the EXTRA.”

Great people always put in the extra (study hours, prayer time, work time, family time .etc. ) so they can get the extra-ordinary result. They are willing to do and to take the risk that other are afraid of , to get the results others envy…

Note: That when you are asking God for more..

(Financial increase and the likes..) be prepared to receive the grace for more strength to work smarter.

          Spend your time wisely.. Its what you spend your time on, that announces you. Time spent with God, is never a waste. They that appear in Zion are strengthened, besides, as “” Bishop David Oyedapo says, you can’t spend time with the only wise God and not be wise…creative and innovative.It will rub off on you.

Discombobulate the devil!

          Sitting in the reception, Anna and I were having a good laugh over our Students Chairman -Tolu 's  catch phrase, " discombobulate  the devil " . I picked up the dictionary and immediately Checked its meaning so as never to "gbagaun" ( make a grammatical error) with it, we laughed even harder at the meaning. 
Word Web : ⇒ baffle, beat, bedevil, befuddle, bewilder, confound, confuse, demoralize, disorient,disorientate, dumbfound, elude, escape, flummox, fox, fuddle, get, gravel, mix up, mystify,nonplus, perplex, pose, puzzle, riddle, stick, stump, stupefy, throw, vex.
   Getting to my floor still basking in the euphoria of the word discombobulate and the way it makes your mouth look. I asked my floor mates the same question,                         
 "Have you discombobulated the devil today?  and again, we had another  good laugh. Balancing on my bed, about to eat the akara and bread I hustled for in front of cafteria.The holy spirit told me that its not a laughing matter oh. He asked me the same question,  and I realized the answer was                            
 No!, I hadn't.  I hadn't done anything to make the devil confused, not knowing the next  action to take. Looking like this:                                                                             
             So I began the mental process of searching for what I knew could Discombobulate the devil,  And immediately I  Remembered I had shared once on my FFF floor that speaking in tongues, makes the devil go *maddddd* He has no idea what your saying, what your asking God for, whether  your praising him , the battles you want him to fight on your behalf, E.t.c He is Discombobulated!!  
           We as Christians ought to be doing this to the devil, every day,hour, min and second of our lives. That is what we have been made for. "To destroy the works of darkness, and frustrate the devils plans" So I ask you the same question. Have you Discombobulated  the devil today?
 If( yes) {carry on} .  Else, {tell a friend, and together  begin to rattle in the language of the Holy spirit.. }
